My professional takeaways
Right after graduating from high school in 1991, I caught the tourism bug: As a winter ski instructor and summer waterski instructor at Club Méditerranée, I learned my first, most important, and simplest rule: The customer is king. So simple, so effective.
After studying tourism, I was ready for my first job: Hired as sports secretary for Sils in the Engadine, I immediately took over management due to the director's illness. Give people big tasks and they'll thrive. I experienced this second piece of wisdom firsthand. And that, in addition to hard work, it's also all about good timing.
Five years later, in 2001, the board of Basel Tourism was looking for a new director: an academic, 40-50 years old, with a strong network in Basel. The fact that I, a 30-year-old Zurich native who had never been to Basel, was given this job taught me wisdom number three: Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My specialties
My first contact with the world of work came in 2016 when I began my apprenticeship as a polymechanic at ETH Zurich. There, I was able to gain valuable experience in an agile, dynamic, and rapidly growing research environment.
After successfully completing my apprenticeship, I worked in an industrial company, providing a contrast to the university environment. Shortly thereafter, I completed my vocational baccalaureate in Zurich. After successfully completing my vocational baccalaureate, I returned to ETH Zurich and worked in the Department of Chemistry. During this time, I was able to begin my apprenticeship program while simultaneously completing my training to become a federally recognized vocational trainer. During this short but interesting training, I gained a wealth of experience.
In recent years, I've discovered my passion for the commercial sector. So I decided to change my career path and further my education in the administrative field. Because passion is the path to success.
