Cooperation between mountain railway and DMO improved

Initial situation: In one of Switzerland's largest ski areas, there was significant potential for improvement in the collaboration between the mountain railway and the DMO. Roles were unclear, communication was inconsistent, and personal tensions were straining the relationship. Approach: On behalf of the two chairmen of the boards of directors of the mountain railway and the DMO, we analyzed the established collaboration between their two organizations and formulated a central thesis: Sustainable cooperation only succeeds when both partners achieve better results together than individually. In a moderated workshop with delegations from both boards of directors, the goal was to identify and define precisely such areas and clearly define the respective responsibilities. Result: This not only facilitated open discussion, but also created a shared understanding of the benefits of clearly structured cooperation. The board delegations recognized that it's not necessarily necessary to work on as many tasks as possible together – but only where synergies clearly outweigh the cooperation effort. The mandate was thus concluded with high levels of acceptance and a clearly defined roadmap.

Assessment of the current situation as a basis for new strategic decisions

Initial situation: Tasari Atelier GmbH is a nationally and internationally active communications agency based in Thalwil. Together with the agency's founder and owner, Simone Wasserfallen, we reviewed the existing strategy with the goal of positioning the agency specifically for the coming years and opening up new growth opportunities. Approach: The process began with a personal assessment of the owner's current situation. Together, we reflected on business and personal objectives, discussed investment opportunities, and analyzed the profitability of existing business areas. Building on these insights, the agency's future direction was redefined as part of a moderated strategy process. Result: A sharpened strategic direction and the identification of an additional business area that is clearly aligned with the agency's strengths and profile. The development of this new area of activity will take place in the coming months – closely linked to existing assets such as the established travelmagazin.ch.

Organizational Development Tourism Region Baden AG

Initial situation: At the beginning of 2023, Tourismusregion Baden AG faced several key development steps: The management position needed to be filled, while operational processes needed to be reviewed and a robust key performance indicator base for management was established. Approach: Together with the Board of Directors, the project goals were refined, framework conditions defined, and the measures structured into clear milestones. The thus defined target vision was adopted by the full Board of Directors and formed the basis for targeted implementation. Result: All sub-projects were implemented efficiently and on time – from the development of a practical set of KPIs and financial indicators to the optimization of internal processes. With the recruitment of Andrea Portmann as the new Managing Director in spring 2023, an excellently suited person for the future leadership was found.
